A technical project leadership position in a global financial institution. At Nomura I work closely with Japanese-speaking customers to define and prioritize requirements; translate those requirements into technical specs, and manage and task a globally distributed development team to deliver usable results for our teams internal clients. I code, write test cases, manage releases and write documentation--basically whatever needs to be done. I love working in a place where I can put my varied experience to work in a challenging, bilingual environment.

Development and deployment of foreign exchange trading system for Japan's largest FX consumer trading finance group. I developed mission-critical reporting and billing systems in a completely Japanese-language speaking environment. Experience with FX trading systems and the art of developing multithreaded messaging applications in the finance industry.

Responsible for a proprietary media content delivery and commerce platform. Managed a local and off-shore team to fix issues and deliver product updates. Handled all phases of development lifecycle, from requirements, planning, design, code, through to testing and deployment. Also managed relationships with OEM hardware vendor and payment processing vendors.

Managed development team during one year transition to off-shore model. Advised the business customers, defined requirements, delegated tasks, analyzed database ETL issues, co-ordinated with other technology teams in the bank, trained off-shore developers, and authored runbook. Additionally, planned and implemented functional load tests. Moderated code reviews, tracked bug queue and prod support issues. Delivered releases with new features on quick turnaround for clients, as well as support updates. Maintained development environments for dev, test, release, and production.

I worked as a Content Management Consultant, helping companies define their needs and requirements, create a strategy, and helping them execute that strategy. My role was to partner with my clients by presenting to their senior management and securing internal funding and support; by translating their requirements into a technology strategy; by managing the vendor selection process; by giving follow up support and training.

Designed and led implementation of XML/XSLT based production system for America's largest retail company's award-winning ecommerce site. Wrote documentation and conducted training sessions with the site staff. Created prototypes, met with clients, coordinated production and launch. Wrote XML-based production system for generating JSP templates for bank loan site; responsible for team that integrated content, design and code in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment. Co-ordinated with other engineering and design leaders, supported project managers, and managed small team of developers.

Worked with a high degree of autonomy planning and teaching classes on my own, while coordinating study goals and overall lesson structure with my teaching colleagues.
