- One of 15 select students to participate in the Civic Leadership Program, which is organized by the Office of Community Engagement and designed to equip students to create positive change and engage in their communities- Taking two 1-credit courses that emphasize community engagement, local advocacy, and active citizenship- Completing 10 community engagement experiences and receive $800 for summer community engagement experience

- Worked directly with the History Committee at the Let Freedom Ring Foundation, a non-profit that preserves the history and legacy of First Baptist Church (FBC), one of the oldest Black churches in America.- Engaged in community-based research by extensively reviewing the history of FBC, synthesizing the information, and presenting it to the directors of the Let Freedom Ring Foundation- Revised the FBC tour guide curriculum to be more cohesive and engaging, while remaining true to the character of the FBC community- Will condense my research and observations into a 10 page paper in December 2021, which will be presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium in Spring 2022.

- Documented 500+ eviction cases in local court house using Microsoft Excel- Observed the frequency that defendants have legal representation and analyzed the impact and correlation between race and legal representation data on the final judgment- Contributed quantitative data to Williamsburg City Council to advance their affordable housing initiative

- Greeted over 30,000 visitors each summer into the third stop of Boston’s Freedom Trail- Refined communication and cross-cultural skills by presenting daily historical lectures to international tourists - Completed research on the religious history of Boston through examining primary and secondary sources

- Conducted and presented in-depth research on affordable housing non-profit evaluation metrics, the relationship between housing and education/health/employment, and local resources available for low-income Richmond residents. - Created a detailed social media strategy to revitalize Urban Hope’s 600+ social media followers. Utilized Canva to create brochures, invitations, and Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin posts. - Administered and assessed feedback surveys from 20+ clients/tenants to provide accurate data for annual and grant reports.- Contacted and partnered with local businesses to participate in Urban Hope’s fundraising raffle. Used Little Green Light and Excel to organize Bus Tour for donors.
