Whilst undertaking my A-Levels I worked part-time at an After School Club, which was both rewarding and at times challenging as it taught me to adapt to a unique and potentially unpredictable environment from a young age. My role at Heymann required teamwork with other Childcare Workers, as well as a leadership role around the children, enhancing my communication skills whilst also introducing me to a high level of responsibility.

Whilst working for Della I assisted in running a number of cookery classes at several schools across the Borough of Rushcliffe (Mostly based at Heymann Primary School) for children aged 8-11. My role included teaching the children safety in the kitchen e.g. how to safely use knives and deal with hot equipment. This along with safeguarding the children required me to be extremely aware and on the ball at all times with the class having upwards of 25 students. Working with children and helping them develop their motor skills was rewarding yet also required patience and strong leadership skills. This role developed my approach to communication and taught me how to adapt to meet the needs of the child in which I was teaching.
