About Phoenix D.

Climate change is a critical issue that is facing our society and it has implications that will hurt many billions of people in the coming decades, especially those people who live outside of the advanced industrial core nations. If your company is NOT focused on: improving sustainability, reducing exploitation, and eliminating discrimination, it is unlikely that I would be interested in a career there. I am making a career in green energy and/or sustainable transportation because I want to do something with my skills that will make this world better for those who come after me!Over the past decade I have accumulated extensive engineering experience with mechanical and mechatronic systems. Including co-ops, I have over five years of work experience designing, prototyping and testing mechanical and mechatronic systems and an M.Eng in Mechatronics Systems design from UBC.Right now I am quite content in my test Engineer role at General Fusion Inc. However, Vancouver is an exceedingly expensive city to live in and I am not closed off to opportunities in clean energy/sustainable transportation that offer great work meaning, work/life balance and good compensation. Please don't hesitate to contact me if your green technology company has an opening for a mechatronics engineer with my experience and background. P.S., I would also be open to opportunities in medical device companies, as giving people back some of their health is also a very valid and rewarding career!
