About Phyllis Davis
I have over 20 years of experience teaching higher education and adult education.I am currently the Assistant Department Chair and Associate Professor of Computer and Information Technology department at St. Louis Community College. My responsibilities include but not limited to teaching Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), CompTIA A+ and Security+ courses, C# Programming, Internet Fundamentals, Information Systems for Business, Computer Literacy, Software and Hardware Concepts, Operating Systems, and Windows. I have also taught international deaf students from Central American in the Scholarships for Education and Economic Development (SEED) Program. Additionally, I am the advisor for the St. Louis Community College A.B.O.U.T. (About Business Office Us and Technology) Club. As an Adjunct Professor at St. Louis Community College, I also taught in the Workforce Development B.O.A.T. Program, a jobs skills program for developmental and transitional students.Prior to teaching I spent over 10 years working in the technical field. My experience included working in instrumentation and process controls systems troubleshooting hardware and software issue, installing and maintaining Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), motor control systems, installing and maintaining variable frequency drives, testing and troubleshooting sequencers, teaching and training on new technologies, reporting and documentation.
