My professional experience has taken several paths providing a wide range of knowledge and experience in several arenas. My internship in the Spring of 1981 was as a Legislative Aid in the 52nd Illinois Congress, researching and writing the Congressional report for the passage of the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. Legislative Aid on the National Welfare and Food Stamp Reform, Foster Care Case Worker, Qualified Mental Retardation Professional, Service Director Administrator, Vocational Training Specialist, Certified Career Development Specialist, Certified Resource Room Specialist and Program Coordinator. 1980- 1981 President of the U of I Bachelor of Social Work Association.Served on the the following State commissions:Illinois Children Commission, Illinois Guardianship CommissionIllinois Workforce Commission.Specialties: * Leadership, organizational and management skills.* Analytical analysis and problem solving * Research, resource development.* Hands-on working knowledge of Nonprofit and governmental regularization/ organizations. * Professional social worker/ counselor (parenting, youth, family, individual cases, vocational, and career counseling).* Certified Academic, Vocational Skill Tester and Evaluator.
