John Pickering is the Chief Behavioural Scientist at Evidn – an international applied behavioural science organisation. John specialises in understanding human behaviour and how to bring about behavioural change at a population level. He is the Project Director of multiple large-scale programs across Australia and the US that seek to understand drivers of behaviour and develop strategies for change, particularly in complex environmental, energy and health domains. John is the Co-Chair of the Nature Sustainability Expert Panel on Behavioural Science and a member of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) expert steering group on agri-environmental behaviour economics. He holds appointments at The University of Queensland, Princeton University, and the University of Michigan. He is a former member of The University of Queensland senate, holds a first-class honours degree, received his PhD with distinction has published extensively in the areas of behaviour change, psychology, environment, and innovation.
