Of the 30 years in IT, 20+ of these have been in management positions. After specialising in Networks software, I built my career with solid business development management principles. I absolutely believe that there is no such thing as “impossible” from a computer hardware and software perspective. It all depends on how creative you are and how prepared you are to challenge conventional thinking, as well as the value it will unlock for the client.After finishing my B.SC degree, I started the division for Networks Software in Iscor. I worked as network/project specialist in various sections within Iscor Steel & Iscor Mining IT Departments. I went to Belgium for 1 month for specialist communications training. I project managed various mega projects i.e. new PABX for the entire Iscor Head office (2000 extensions), Materials management system implementation over 9 sites, technology swapping (Cyber to Hitachi Persetel), etc. Negotiated various large contracts (Philips Networks support contract, Cyber support contract, Cellular service contract, etc.)In 1995 I started as Business Development Manager, where I successfully negotiated and signed the first full outsource deal for AST Group. In 2000 I went to Namibia as Sales Director for AST Namibia.In 2002 I started my own business consulting company with primary focus on: Service level & contract management, Increasing revenue and profitability, Structured marketing & sales processes with client and deal closing focus, Records management/archiving, Risk Management & business continuity.
