During the latter part of 2017 I was transferred to the Engineering Department as Specialist Engineer as part of a skills transfer program. The focus being Materials Engineering & Welding repair on rotating equipment and Production process optimisation.During August 2019 the SHEQ department was divided into SHE and Quality respectively and I took over the Quality Management responsibility. With the resignation of the Engineering Manager in December 2019 I was asked also to take up the Engineering Manager’s responsibility. The metallurgical and welding activities remained my responsibility as a specialist function. With the establishment of the new Siemens Energy company in April 2020 I continue with my dual function as Engineering and Quality Manager.

I joined Siemens Energy's Engineering team in 2008 to provide essential professional support with respect to welding, materials engineering and turbine/ compressor fact finding and refurbishment. Duties vary from the fact-finding inspection of rotating equipment (turbines and compressors), the recommendation of best fabrication and/or repair procedures, material recommendation, weld repair, heat treatment and drafting of site and workshop quality protocols. Several Informal training sessions regarding safety, quality and engineering were done as part of my current portfolio. As part of the regionalization drive in Siemens I am actively involved from a welding and fabrication/repair perspective to get the workshop qualified to perform key activities under license for the various product competency centers. During 2012 I attended a 6-week turbine fact finding course in NürenbergTo compliment my responsibilities with respect to the workshop welding and repair activities I enrolled and completed the Level 1 Welding Inspectors course at the SAIW from which I graduated with distinction during Sept 2012. During 2013 I was appointed to act in two managerial positions reporting to the CEO: Engineering Manager & Operations Manager With the resignation of the SHEQ manager in November 2013 I was also asked to take up this position in acting capacity. I was appointed as Divisional EHS&Q Manager on the 1st June 2014. In addition the function above I was also assigned the portfolio’s of Compliance Ambassador for Power Generation Division and Facility & Security Manager for the Wadeville Operations while Welding, Materials Engineering and Heat treatment function remained my responsibility. During August 2019 the SHEQ department was divided into SHE and Quality respectively and I took over the Quality Management responsibility. In July 2005 I started with 3 other partners an Aluminium load body manufacturing company Alutip (Pty) Ltd as Managing Director. I project managed all the manufacturing and installation. I left Alutip during January 2007 to form a Professional Engineering Consulting company (PMEC Engineering Consultancy) and Axis Developments cc a manufacturing engineering company with one of my former partners. These two companies joined forces with an Armored vehicle design & development company, Armoured Technology Systems (ATS) where I assumed the position as Operations and systems Director.My duties include:• The systems management of items produced.• Identification and quantification of system goals.• Select the best technology and materials for the intended mission.• Workshop layout and production optimization.• Development, improvement, implementation & evaluation of integrated systems. • Manage and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.• Quality, Safety Management and Production Integration.Since 2005 I was still doing consulting work on contract for Siemens and various other companies with respect to the maintenance Turbines and compressors and material selection to optimize refurbishment, and Metallurgical and welding consulting.Due to the slowdown in economy I sold the manufacturing company.

These services include failure analysis with respect to materials, welding, corrosion and heat treatment, mechanical testing of materials, material recommendations, drawing up of repair packages for pressurised equipment, risk assessments and remaining life assessments on equipment. Due to the complexity of the processes in the petrochemical plant my experience also involved decisions and responsibilities in other Engineering fields such as production, mechanical engineering, project management and quality. In 1989 I received my honours degree in metallurgical engineering (main subjects: heat treatment, welding and quality) at the UP. During this period all the Engineers-in –training reported to me where I acted as their mentor. I also initiated a company-wide training program to plant engineers for an awareness and appreciation of metallurgical failures within the petrochemical industry.I registered in 1991 as a Professional Engineer at the South African Council for Engineers (ESCA) Reg. No 910343 and Society for Professional Engineers (SPE) No 4545.During 1993 I was transferred to the central workshop division as manager to manage the heat treatment, pressure vessel and heat exchanger fabrication and machining facility of Sasol Synthetic Fuels . In 1996 SSF started with a major transformation process and I was transferred to the transformation team, where I was trained by an American consulting group as a facilitator in the Service Value Analysis team. Over the next 2 years I was involved as team leader for the transformation training of all the SSF Engineering divisions. The latter part of my career in SSF I was appointed as Senior Welding Engineer where I was responsible for all welding, heat treatment, refurbishment and fabrication within SSF.
