I have been the Schools Liaison Coordinator for North Shropshire college for the last 12 months, after receiving a promotion after 3 months of working for the college. I am the coordinator for two key areas of the college, schools liaison and 14-16 provision. I work across the college's 4 main campuses across North Shropshire, liaising with curriculum and business support staff.I am responsible for all administration of the department, all contact with external agencies, such as careers advisors, parents and prospective students. My role is the key marketing role for the college, as I deliver presentations to school year groups and parents, I have a presence at schools careers events and parents evenings. I am also responsible for the organisation and the orchestration of the college's Taster days and the departmental budget, which is used to fund these.I create strong links with the college's key partner schools and the other 60 schools that are the feeders, through strong communication and organisational skills. This includes chairing Operational Meetings with partner schools on a termly basis. My role involved the planning and development of key events such as taster days. I also offered information, advice and guidance to prospective students through attendance at careers conventions, parent’s evenings and by delivering presentations in school assemblies and workshops.
