Creative Director, The Center For Educational Technologies
In this position, I was responsible for leading the technical production and creative direction of all multimedia products and services offered by the Center for Educational Technologies. Duties included project design and planning, multimedia direction/production, and post-production of content.As creative director, I facilitated the contributions of faculty authors, program staff, and external contractors. Under my management and leadership, the program has completed many high profile projects including: Core Surgical Skills: Basic Instrument Use and Knot Tying online course, the Pfizer Veritas online veterinary continuing education project, the Foreign Animal Disease Diagnosis manual (USDA cooperative agreement), and launching the Veterinary Public Health course to academic institutions through our Moodle LMS system.In my leadership role, I researched and implemented a LMS solution to deliver this 6-hour course to veterinary students worldwide, as well as providing a foundation for subsequent e-course deliveries. I also demonstrated expertise in a consultant role for the USDA International Pakistan project (cooperative USDA agreement), paving the way for continued contracts on an ongoing basis.Before leaving to start my own firm, my ultimate initiative focused on implementing 3D solutions for the TAMU Vet College. I utilized segmentation software to isolate soft tissue and reconstructed anatomy as 3D models suitable for printing. I also pioneered the use of the zSpace 3D visualization system within the veterinary curriculum and the TAMU teaching hospital for patient-specific pre-surgical visualization. Production Manager
In this position, I was responsible for managing and executing the technical production of all multimedia products and services offered by the Partners in Animal Health program. Duties include project design and planning, multimedia production, and post-production of content. As production manager, I helped manage the contributions of faculty authors, program staff, and external contractors.Under my management, the program completed 8 multimedia projects over 2 years. High-impact projects included: Poultry Examination and Diagnostics (USDA cooperative agreement), Gastrointestinal Diseases in Cats; , Managing Destructive Scratching in Cats (bequest from Ms. Rhoda Hogan), Peripheral Nerve Blocks in Dogs (pilot project funded by Partners in Animal Health), and Illustrated Guide to Poultry Necropsy and Diagnosis (USDA cooperative agreement). I also worked on a grant for the U.S. Dept. of Education to develop an e-course for veterinary students on the subject of veterinary public health. The online course is part of a multi-institutional consortium of 6 veterinary colleges and is part of the Vet ICE initiative. Upon joining the Partners in Animal Health program as Production Manager in 2008, I implemented new production processes for the program. The resulting efficiencies helped to establish a self-sustaining enterprise that has brought in over 1.2 million dollars in externally sponsored funding and program revenue over those 2 years. My responsibilities as production manager also included the research and development of innovative educational technologies for veterinary education, including interactive 3D virtual surgical simulations, online LMS systems for rapid e-course (CE and curricular) development, mobile technology development and Flash asset deployment. Under my creative leadership, I was able to establish a web portal educating veterinarians and pet owners throughout the world.

Other roles include working with faculty and subject matter experts in developing content, copywriting for corporate and retail campaigns, in-house software tool development, developing and documenting production efficiencies, public relations and promotions, and attending regional trade shows as an eCornell representative.

DVD authoring/production for CAESY and The Smile Channel, the leading interactive patient education system for the dental industry, deployed in 15,000 dental offices worldwide. I was responsible for project management, digital video asset creation/acquisition, video encoding, multilingual menu creation, 3D graphics and animation creation, authoring the disc, and pre-mastering QA. This DVD suite of products has been translated into 5 languages and is the exclusive provider of interactive dental health information in the U.K, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan. This company was acquired by Patterson Dental in 2002 and the software suite is distributed worldwide. Web Development- Project lead for a cross-functional team for the design and development of dentstryonline.com, the leading destination for dental professionals and consumers. My responsibilities included management of the design team, art direction, and implementation of the consumer and professional site. Web apps developed include a customizable newsletter, web site builder, patient education center, web-mail message center, and multimedia health guides. This site has been translated into Japanese and is the leading destination for dental health in Japan.
