I’m a Packaging Scientist that solves consumer goods packaging problems by optimizing the performance, sustainability, and resource balance of packaging systems. My main passion lies in primary packaging because the primary package is where all aspects of holistic packaging design come together… where product meets package and marketing meets science. After completing my BS in Chemistry at Clemson University, I sought a way to apply the scientific approach and build an impactful career. My life completely changed after I discovered Packaging Science and the world of Packaging. No joke! I love packaging because:- There is always an interesting and impactful problem to solve - Developing packaging solutions involves a wide array of STEM and Business fundamentals- Packaging design plays an important role in society and our environmentAfter completing my MS in Packaging Science at Clemson University, I joined Dow to help solve some of the most urgent and challenging problems facing our industry. Dow is a global leader in material science-based solutions for an expansive range of packaging applications. I have been responsible for market-targeted application development for a variety of sub-markets within food, beverage, pet food, consumer products, and industrial packaging. My teams collaborate with direct accounts and partners throughout the packaging value chain to accelerate the development, commercialization, and promotion of new materials that enable the transition to a more sustainable future for packaging.Cross-industry collaboration is the only way to solve the complex and nuanced packaging challenges of today.
