Acted as consultant to the new Board of Directors for a 6-month period, worked to develop and support new management and to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders. Worked to support a successful asset sale to a Japanese competitor of the largest company product line, SBS Balance Systems.

At the time I took the position, the company was in a long stretch of poor financial performance, and it became evident that a hostile shareholder action was being launched. I spent the next 8 months working on two fronts, one to restructure the company for profitability, and secondly to address the takeover process. I was successful in returning the company to profitable operations by both growing revenue and cutting expenses but was unsuccessful in turning around long-term shareholder frustration quickly enough to prevent activists from taking board control.

Managed growth of a startup company with a single product line into 4 separate product lines with industrial measurement and process control focus. Hired and developed managerial staff to take over key functions of Production, Materials, and Engineering. Critical part of management team that grew the company to 12m in annual revenue, with 50 employees worldwide.

Performed mechanical application engineering for initial 5 years of the company. Performed all operational job functions (Production, Purchasing, IT, Shipping), until company growth allowed for additional staff hires. Developed operational systems and managed all technical and operational staff for a rapidly growing company focused on product development and sales of proprietary Industrial Metrology and Process Control Products. Implemented and managed an ISO:9001 certified Quality Assurance Program. Grew company to 6m annual sales

Part of 3-person team at company startup. Developed technical and promotional materials to support sales of a private label product line with focus on North American sales. Product was a Swiss manufactured automatic balance control system for installation in industrial grinding machine tool applications. Performed direct technical product sales, including application engineering.
