GENECTIVE is a joint venture between Group LIMAGRAIN and Group KWS aiming at the development, regulatory approval, and commercialization of GM corn. We share the vision that genetically modified organisms (GMOs) constitute an important means to face future challenges in agriculture.Lead global entomology program and manage field, laboratory, and greenhouse programs at the US based research center. Work includes field efficacy, plant and protein based bioassays and will also include greenhouse whole plant assays for coleopteran and lepidopteran corn pests of North and South America.

Lead efforts for the approval of biotech products in the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan and other countries. In addition, I help lead the strategy and implementation of the Regulatory program at the J.R. Simplot Company incuding environmental risk assessment, plant characterization, and trait characterization. This includes making governmental submissions to the USDA, FDA, Health Canada, CFIA, MAFF, and many other agencies. Successfully received USDA deregulation for the 1st Simplot biotech potato. Received 1st experimental use permit for Simplot biotech plant incorporated protectant. Made first submission and achieved technical completeness for Simplot late blight resistant potato. Responsible for leading two entomology programs for insect rearing and corn hybrid qualification of biotechnology derived crop protection traits. Responsible for inter and intra-site strategy for operating efficiency and data quality for both entomology programs. Also responsible for increasing interactions internationally for insect protection traits which includes protocol writing, insect rearing, and study deployment. This also includes cross-functional international support for discovery, regulatory, and commercial corn, cotton, and soybean teams.

Hybrid qualifications of hybrids for new biotech products for western corn rootworm efficacy.

Responsible for the project management, experimental design, deployment, and reports of GLP-like field studies on maize, soybeans, cotton, canola, sugar beets, and alfalfa for the deregulation of biotechnology derived crop traits. The data generated included: agronomics, disease susceptibility, abiotic stresses, NTO’s, pest damage and efficacy data on all major US and Ex-US pest species in the Western Hemisphere. The data were used in the submission of regulatory dossiers in the US and ex-US countries. I have conducted studies in the following countries: Argentina, China, Germany, Spain, Slovakia, and the United States of America. In addition, I provided technical expertise or provide field protocols, regulatory responses, field trial deployment training, field trial notebooks to colleagues in the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, Europe, Thailand, Vietnam, India, South Africa, and Korea

Conducted environmental risk assessment studies and developed guidelines to assess ecological effects of transgenic crops necessary to support registration of transgenic crops.
