About Paul Krzyzanowski, Phd, Mba

Paul has over fifteen years of experience of developing and operating a wide range of biotechnology ventures. With experience in the development and execution of business/operating plans, budgeting/funding, talent management, business plan/grant writing, contract negotiation, outward-facing client management, and scientific IP/patent research in everything from high complexity genome data analytics and operating a growing research service group, Paul has also consulted for startup companies and well known commercialization incubators FACIT and TIAP in Toronto.Paul currently leads the Genome Research Platform at OICR, growing his direct team from 4 to 14, and focusing on delivering $4-5 million of high-throughput genomics services annually which meet or exceed medical laboratory quality standards set by CAP and IQMH. Paul also consults with clients to identify their business and scientific needs and make recommendations how to structure each project for the benefit of all stakeholders. In this role, Paul also has primary responsibility of managing the product/service mix, new service/product development, product pricing, capital allocation, general strategy, and R&D activities.Paul is also the recipient of several major awards, including earning a Dean’s List and Bregman Scholar distinction (Rotman School of Management), being designated a CIHR Postdoctoral Fellow, and receiving a University of Toronto Arbor Award for volunteer services to young alumni. Paul holds an H.B.Sc. (University of Toronto), a Ph.D. (University of Ottawa), and an M.B.A. (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto).
