VHDL Design Solutions to meet Client Specifications:Tasked, as part of a Design Team, to Upgrade/Customise the Firmware on a Controller Card for an Existing Electronic Warfare (EW) System. This system is currently used on many different military aircraft platforms eg fighter jets, attack helicopters, transport aircraft, etc. The customisation/version worked on was Re-Designed for use in submarines. The Tasks were to interface between two TMS320C6701 Digital Signal Processors (DSP’s), two High Speed UARTS, a USB 2.0 Controller/Transceiver, Flash Memory, Static RAM etc using various types of CPLD’s and FPGA’s. The entire design was achieved using VHDL and Simulated using Mentor Graphics’s Modelsim.Have done some extensive Faultfinding & Debugging on existing EW Systems to assist Production and QA Departments in getting systems through Qualification and Timeous Delivery to the client.
