-Responsible for designing, engineering, and implementation of Linux computing systems hardware, software, and storage infrastructure using the following service models: Saas cloud, PaaS cloud, Iaas cloud, on-prem, and hybrid solutions.-Collaborate with peers and other team members to formalize system engineering, application support and operation processes and procedures based upon industry standards and best practices, and on vendor technology and product selection.-Continuously reviewing the overall information and computing needs of the company and leverage technology to provide cost effective solutions.-Coordinate and execute changes thru the change control management policy and procedures process.

Support and management RedHat Linux Operating Systems to include patching, upgrading, security vulnerabilities, and any other support for a large-scale computer systems as needed.Evaluate system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Provide support for software systems programming, operating software applications, consults on complex projects/existing applications, and overall operating systems.

Provide system administration and management of networked Linux servers for Red Hat 5 and 6.Coordinate, development and implement hardware and software installations and upgrades to include BIOS and firmware upgrades.Perform network configuration and troubleshooting.Detect, diagnose, and correct performance problems related to network issues, memory, and CPU utilization.Provision and configure storage area network (SAN) as requested by customers.Configure and support virtual servers utilizing VMware vSphere technology.Manage day-to-day activity and configuration of IT systems.Manage and support server backups using Netbackup software. Interface with customers to discuss and resolve simple to complex issues. Provide on-call support on a rotational basis. Track performance, utilization growth, and adherence to service metrics for assigned customers. Utilize standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.Solid communication and analytic skills.

-Provide system administration and management for UNIX/Linux servers to include install, configure, upgrade, test, analyze, log, track, and resolve system files and services to enhance server performance.-Serve as Project Lead or Project Team member for the implementation of new systems or the replacement of existing systems-Support the configuration and design of complex system implementations, organizational processes, and applications - Experience working with storage technology (SAN, Veritas, etc).-Provide technical services including security, capacity planning, performance tuning, and report development-General knowledge of networking-Working knowledge and familiarity with shell scripting, Samba,NFS, DNS, LDOM, Jumpstart, LDAP, and firewalls-Provide technical support for the Disaster Recovery team for all mission-essential systems-Research, update, and apply security patches to servers to comply with security guidelines-Ability to work independently and as a team member-Excellent organization and communication skills
