Tasks undertaken in my 1st graduate rotation as a Design Engineer at Powercor:• Gathering data from field visits and from in-house, archival software systems so that line/circuit design can be performed• Referring to Powercor, and other technical, standards and making judgements on suitability for particular field applications.• Performing design calculations required to ensure correct construction of overhead lines and poles• Creating estimates for new projects• Preparing work instructions, and assembling and issuing work files to downstream field construction crews.• Composing and ordering identification labels for new assets and changes to existing assets• Planning power outages for construction crews to undertake work safely• Liaising with peer personnel and other in-house business groups in order to facilitate and advance project requirements.• Liaising with other service authorities/utilities for work co-ordination purposes.
