I am a dedicated bioinformatics professional with a robust background in genomics and a passion for exploring human genetic variation. Currently, I serve as a Bioinformatician at the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM), where my primary focus is the identification and analysis of structural variations in human genome samples using state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools and pipelines, particularly for short-reads from Illumina.Previously, I was a Fellow at Roma Tre University, actively engaged in a project on the human gut microbiome. My work involved a comprehensive metagenomic-culturomics and resistomics survey using the nf-core MAG pipeline and shotgun metagenomic sequencing to understand bacterial species in the human gut. I possess excellent proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python,R, Linux, and bash, and am adept at handling and analyzing large-scale biological datasets using statistical analysis techniques. My expertise extends to bioinformatics pipelines, particularly those developed by the "nf-core" community, and protein analysis tools like Pymol, Pymod, and Molegro.With a strong foundation in bioinformatics, I am committed to leveraging my skills and knowledge to advance the understanding of genetic variations and contribute to impactful research in the field of genomics.
