A deep desire to live a sustainable life motivates me to share rubbishREMADE as a creative reuse collective with other sustainably minded makers. I have a design minded approach to creating handmade upcycled products, I see the potential of materials that ordinarily are regarded as waste, we have a huge waste problem in our country and in our world. The work of rethinking our business models and the whole waste stream is vital, it’s the work that needs doing to help save us from ourselves. My products come from a place of needing a certain thing for my home or my life and making it instead of going out and purchasing that item. I have found others are interested in purchasing these products for themselves, and beyond people just buying items, there is also a desire individuals have shown interest in learning these upcycling methods. This opens up the possibility to run workshops and create online tutorials to extend the reach of rubbishREMADE to share the knowledge of diy with creative reuse in mind.
