As a Software Engineer at Cannon Instrument Company, I collaborated with a cross-functional engineering team to ensure seamless hardware/software integration. I leveraged my skills to develop and maintain software controllers on embedded Linux systems, utilizing .NET to build APIs for inter-process communication through gRPC and Protocol Buffers. As a Fire Forester, I held a pivotal role overseeing approximately 1 million acres, encompassing both public and private lands within the Moshannon Forest District. My responsibilities covered a wide range of vital tasks, including wildland fire education, prevention, suppression, and investigation.To ensure effective fire management and safety, I harnessed my diverse skill set to foster strong collaboration with local municipal governments and volunteer fire departments. In this capacity, I also served as the lead worker, overseeing and guiding a dedicated team of 2-3 staff members, ensuring seamless execution of firefighting operations and fostering a cohesive work environment.

Pinchot Forest District

As a Resource Management Forester, I oversaw timber sale operations, ensuring satisfactory completion through effective contract administration. I also effectively cultivated and nurtured positive relationships with local conservation districts and key public stakeholders during outreach activities. Regularly I utilized ArcMap and Collector for ArcGIS to gather and analyze forestry and wildland fire field data. By applying my GIS expertise, I was able to analyze LiDAR and aerial imagery and leverage it to efficiently plan and execute vegetation typing on tens of thousands of acres of public lands. Additionally, I served as a district GIS coordinator, ensuring that colleagues understood core GIS concepts and software use.
