Assess systems and procedures for safe and appropriate medication distribution to patients admitted to the UCSF Medical Center. Focus of efforts include technology systems (Epic, BD/Alaris and Smiths medical infusion pumps, Swisslog products, Pyxis). Also participate in the safe use of high alert medications including pain medications, anticoagulatant and antidiabetic.Oversee investigation of incident reports for errors and near misses, with a focus on process improvement.Continued operational duties, including staffing of pharmacy main, OR and IV satellite and clinical services with general medicine and cardiology services.

Ensure safe and appropriate medication distribution to patients admitted to the UCSF Medical Center with operational experience in a variety of pharmacy settings, including main pharmacy, IV satellite pharmacy, production facility, and operating room satellite pharmacy.Manage medication issues through a collaborative practice agreement for patients admitted to the Neurosurgery service and assist with oversight of medication for Neurology and Neurovascular Services.

Work part time in the pharmacy including training in IV addition mixtures and unit dose areas. Assisted staff pharmacists with filling orders, refill Pyxis machines, answer phone calls from nursing staff and physicians, compound oral suspensions, and pre-packed unit dose oral medications

I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Jay Levy part time and assisted with routine tasks, including autoclaving washing glassware and cleaning laboratory equipment. Additionally I assisted in special projects, such as data entry, freezer inventory and organizing references for HIV and the Pathogenesis of AIDS.
