Contributing Writer

Forge Media, Sheffield

Sheffield

Throughout my time at University, I consistently contributed to the University's independent student newspaper. I wrote articles for various different sections, including News, Features, Comment, Music and Screen, these varied from short reviews, to long form Feature pieces, and local reporting. I balanced my regular contributions alongside my studies, and alongside my section editor responsibilities. Writing for Forge Press enabled me to learn a lot about the writing and editing process, it taught me how to take constructive criticism on board and use it to enhance and improve my writing skills. I was able to come up with my own article ideas often and write about things I felt passionately about, as well as working to tight deadlines.
