Born in Barcelona (2001), Pol Villaverde has always combined a passion for the digital world with a professional vocation for public service. He is a graduate in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (UPF-UAB-UAM-UC3M), having studied in Barcelona and Madrid, and completing an exchange semester at SciencesPo in Paris. During his studies, he joined and founded several youth organizations in the field of politics and debate while being active in university governance at the local and European levels.Professionally speaking, he has worked as an external consultant for the European Institute of the Mediterranean and the Anna Lindh Foundation among other institutions, mainly in the third sector. In 2023, he pursued an internship at the Catalan Ministry of Economy and Finance, where he focused on international benchmarking and conducted a research on the effects of the digital gap on vulnerable citizens. These experiences brought him to deepen his interest in welfare state futures, public administration reform and social innovation in view of the need to re-legitimize democratic institutions through effective redistributive policy.As an aspiring social entrepreneur since the age of 14, Pol has cretaed a dozen mobile apps with 1,5 million users. He is the founder and president of Palumba EU, a nonprofit focusing on digital democratic engagement contributing to mobilize 170.000 young Europeans ahead of the 2024 European Elections through a viral app. Additionally, he has been actively engaged in several civil society projects and organizations, including Azahara ONG or Ateneu Barcelonès. He is a U.S. Govt. Exchange Alumni.Pol is currently studying a Dual Master's in Public Policy and Public Administration at SciencesPo Paris and Columbia University.
