The biggest challenge that I have overcome is the marked cultural difference between countries that “supposedly” speak the same language, yet in translation have different and sometimes conflicting expectations.Two major successes have been in two diverse fields. The first, Global EcoVentures LLC was a joint venture between a USA I.P. technology company in the composite arena and an Australian Financial Services Corporation that wanted to diversify its holdings and opportunities outside Australasia. The resultant mix, with me acting a board member, resulted in the invention of a new low-tech composite in combination with a leading high tech application that is now being tested and considered under NDA and LOI as a multi-national investment vehicle for the multi-billion dollar pallet industry logistics platform.The second is the investigation of entry points into North and South America on behalf of the Pearls Indian group of companies, for a unique building system that provides sustainable low cost housing for indigenous people, innovative portable structures for disaster relief and temporary short term shelters as well as housing for mining, oil and gas remote facilities. I have interacted successfully with the CEO of the Navajo Nation, the Under Secretary of State for HUD, the Under Secretary of State for USAID, infrastructure planners for the shale oil and gas fields in North Dakota, the regional Director of FEMA and various C level executives at large construction and development corporations.

I entered the financial services industry in a small firm in California as a stepping stone when I came to reside in the USA. In the following years, I graduated to large tier secondary firms where I excelled at my trade. To reflect my success, I went from first year earnings (inclusive of a 6 month training program) of $90,000 to a peak of $780,000+. There were never any customer complaints and I still have strong relationships with such people as the head of the Michigan Retirement System and the Head of the CALPERS retirement fund, several years after leaving the industry to pursue my own independent business aims.

I was hired on by the founders of IFPS, a large scale Financial Modeling and Risk Analysis software based US Corporation to manage the business development of a South-East Asian customer base. Within a four year period I managed to sign on 20 of the top fortune 25 companies in Australasia. The company was sold to a major Japanese computer developer in 1994.

I have covered my learning experience at Xerox under Relevant Skills. After 12 years of military service, I joined Rank Xerox Australia as a sales trainee and in the following years, achieved significant sales awards, promotion to District sales manager, government Sales manager, a transfer to rank Xerox Europe where I was involved in Sales training development, product launch management and technology transfers between Fuji Xerox Japan and Rank Xerox UK.
