• Protect organization’s legal and financial interests by overseeing all litigation matters and legal functions and proactively mitigating exposure to risk and liability.• Manage litigation budget by establishing strategy for all litigation responses, select and direct outside counsel and supervise non-professional staff and contract personnel. • Oversee all corporate compliance matters, including addressing regulatory concerns, drafting regulatory policies and procedures for compliance with federal and state regulations.• Represent company in interactions with state and federal regulators. Review and advise management of federal and state laws and guidelines, including all required state and federal licensing. • Report to executive management about trending issues and areas of concern by attending industry conferences, evaluating proposed legislation and monitoring industry specific legal updates.• Complete research projects and assist in training functions to improve compliance, and review current complaints/issues to determine methods to minimize future risk.• Negotiate, draft and evaluate core business contracts, including ones relating to nondisclosure agreements, credit and finance, vendor relationships, and other corporate dealings.• Manage all the legal affairs of the company on a broad range of matters, including ensuring adequate insurance coverage for the various business functions and counseling on labor and employment law matters.• Represent organization in Federal Bankruptcy Court, Circuit and District Courts and manage caseload.• Perform a variety of complicated tasks in a fast paced business environment by assessing priorities leading projects and implementing appropriate action.• Closely work with executive management as an integrated business partner while ensuring my assistance is practical, helpful and in keeping with the corporate mission.
