The Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA) has received funding from the World Bank towards the cost of the Liberia Renewable Energy Access Project (LIRENAP) part of which involves the development of the Kaiha 2 small hydropower plant on the Kaiha River, Kolahun District, Lofa County, Liberia.The Project work including Design, supply & installation/construction of 2.5 MW (4 x 625 kW) low head hydropower plant operating under a net rated Head of 11.7 m comprising a dam/weir, intake structure, vertical lift fixed wheel gates, horizontal “S” type Kaplan hydro turbine, surface powerhouse, etc. The scope of design is comprises detailed engineering design activities as well as the supply and installation of turbines/ generators, transformers/switch room including Civil & electromechanical designs. My job scope and responsibilities included:1.Completed site surveying and prepared general layout plan for site.2.Managed geological investigation as per the contract specifications.3.Monitored and handled overall responsibility of project construction activities.4.Performed all quality control tests as per the BS, ASTM, ACI, IS standards related to construction activities.5.Prepared and issued shop drawings for construction site.6.Reviewed and communicated structural design related matters with design engineer and furnishing required information.7.Coordination in developing master schedule, weekly schedule and tracking the project progress using MS project software.8.Prepared progress report, BOQ, method statements, estimation and material requirement schedules.9.Coordination with consultant and client regarding the construction activities.10.Monitoring and supervising assigned tasks of all staff.11.Coordination with subcontractors involved with the project activities.12.Participated to weekly progress meetings, safety meeting and other online meeting with funding agency (world bank).

Project Engineer of Mannar Wind power project. Construction of 100MW semi dispatchable wind farm in Mannar Island with the project value of 200 million USD funded by Asian Development bank. Access Engineering PLC was the Bop civil contractor of the project .Ceylon Electricity Board was the Employer and main contractor was Vestas Wind Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. My job scope and responsibilities included:1.Oversaw and managed all construction activities for wind turbine generator pile caps, as well as the housing and main office building facilities in the wind farm.2.Tracked and reported construction progress to ensure project milestones and productivity aligned with the schedule.3.Reviewed and communicated structural design matters with the head office design team, provided necessary information.4.Oversaw and liaised with the project manager on procurement strategies for the residential and administrative facilities within the wind farm.5.Ensured continues adherence to QMS, EMS, and OHMS procedures at all times.6.Coordinated with subcontractors on project activities and validated their interim valuations.7.Overseen the task of all staff involved in the construction of wind turbine generator pile caps, main office building and housing facilities at the wind farm.8.Participated in progress, safety meeting with CEB, VESTAS officers.9.Proficient in Oracle Aconex, a cloud based information management system utilized for seamless project document sharing among stakeholders.

Construction of Grid Substation at Wewalwaththa. Works included ,construction of the main operating building, Tower Foundations construction ,Transformer foundation construction ,cable ducts and perimeter fence, drain and main road construction works. Ceylon electricity board (CEB)was the client and Lanka Transformer limited(LTL) was the main contractor. My job scope and responsibilities included;1. Managed all construction activities in Main Building ,Tower foundations, Road, Cable ducts, Perimeter fence and Retaining walls.2. Setting out precise locations for tower foundations using surveying equipment.3.Installing and securing tower foundation bolts according to engineering specifications.4.Reviewed and communicated structural design related matters with CEB and LTL team members.5.Participated to progress and safety meetings with CEB and LTL officers.

Construction of 2.5 MW Manakola Mini Hydropower Project –Padiyapalella, Sri Lanka. Projects works included, construction of weir, 150m long head race channel, forebay tank,1.5km long penstock line and power house building with two number of horizontal shaft Francis turbines. My job scope and responsibilities included:1.Engineering surveying and prepared the plan for the project.2.Managed the all construction activities and reported to engineering manager at head office.3.Reviewed and communicated structural design related matters with design engineer and furnished required information.4.Furnished shop drawings for construction site.5.Prepared progress report, BOQ, estimation and material requirement schedules.6.Monitored and supervised assigned tasks of all staff.7.Coordination with subcontractors involved with the project activities and certified their interim valuations.8.Coordination with government officers and villagers to achieve project deliverables.9.Engineering survey and feasibility studies carried out for other projects also(Suduganga, and Heeloya).

The Mawanana MHPP unique mini hydropower project in Sri Lanka as the design was altered to mitigate the flood problem in the Neluwa and Mawanana areas by diverting the Gin Ganga (River) through the Intake Channel below its Water Level. The Submerged Intake Structure is built without a diversion structure across the river, where the river section at the diversion point is about 100m. A natural barrier at the diversion location is used as the diversion structure and the estimated maximum flood flow in a 100-year return period is about 2000 m3ls. My job scope and responsibilities included:1.Held overall responsibility for the project construction activities and monitoring progress as per the project schedule and reporting to the Project Manager and responsible for quality assurance as per the specifications issued by the Consulting Engineer, Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB), Sri Lanka.2.Implementing the Site Safety and Security. Enforcing the safety and security rules issued by the Project Manager, including cleanliness, environmental compliance as per the directions issued by the Environmental Authority and other regulatory agencies, and subcontractor facilities and welfare.3.Preparation of shop drawings and managing the drawings issued by the Civil Design Engineer-CECB Galle Design Office.4.Preparing bar bending schedules, concrete requirements, and Quality Assurance plans as per the work schedule.5.Establishment of the benchmark site levels and lines as per the engineering specifications and the environmental approval.6.Carrying out formwork plans and highlighting any customized design requirements as required for site conditions.7.Monitoring and supervising all tasks assigned to senior technical officers and other technic-all Staff.8.Conducting daily site meetings and weekly progress meetings with the sub-contractor and site staff.9.Checking and certifying the sub-contractor's bills, site petty cash payments, and labor attendance.

I contributed to two different projects during my tenure at the company.Project 01- Construction of 1.3 MW Wembiyagoda Mini Hydropower Project –KalawanaProject 02-Construction of 4.3 MW Lower Kothmale Oya Hydropower Project.My job scope and responsibilities included;1.Supervision and handling the construction activities of the projects.2.Coordination with subcontractors involved with the project activities and certified their interim valuations.3.Prepared progress report, BOQ, estimation and material requirement schedules.4.Engineering survey carried out and furnished the layout plan for the project.5.Coordination with design engineering team and furnished the required details.

Provincial Road Improvement Project UVA Province (UVA03). My job scope and responsibilities included;1.Supervision and handling the construction activities of the projects (excavation, Culvert and bridge Construction, edge widening, ABC laying, concrete works, asphalt laying etc).2. Coordination with subcontractors involved with the project activities and certified their interim valuations.3. Property Survey along the road improvement area.
