I am currently Medical Director of Plexision, Inc. I have over forty years of clinical, teaching and research experience in different settings in USA and India with many firsts to my credit. I was the first Fellow in GenitoUrinary (GU) and GastroIntestinal (GI) Pathology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). I successfully implemented prostate tissue banking at UPMC. I introduced Surgical Pathology and Cytology services in Bareilly, India.My research activities include tissue banking of prostate, development of in-vitro cultures from prostate to study epithelial-stromal cell growth regulation & development of synoptic templates for reporting of GU & GI tract neoplasms. This lead to publications in Modern Pathology and American Journal of Clinical Pathology. I won the 1994 Fifth Annual Pathology Research Presentations, UPMC for the best scientific presentation. I was a Co-Investigator in Pulmonary Hypertension Breakthrough Initiative Project for study of human Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension lung tissue.As an active member of CAP I have served on its Informatics Committee, am a CAP Inspector since 1997 and have performed many inspections. In 2002, I convinced 4 laboratories in India to acquire CAP Accreditation. Today, India is CAP's fastest growing market.I am Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with Pennsylvania and Florida licenses, have presented at various national meetings, published articles in peer-reviewed journals and with several invited speaking engagements in USA, India, Singapore & Caribbean.I received my medical degree from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College. I have two residencies in AP/CP from University of Pune and UPMC, and GU and GI Pathology fellowships from UPMC. I have served on the medical staff of numerous hospitals in Pennsylvania and Florida.My interests include Informatics, Laboratory Accreditation for developing countries, CQI, QA & TQM.
