I managed and led teams responsible for the back end command and control to our millions of installed sensors and the UI team responsible for the single pane of glass that our customers use every day.

I led cloud integration of our product as the development manager, providing technical direction and improving the workflow of my multiple SCRUM teams.
During my tenure, we have shifted from a waterfall development process to multiple Scrum teams and are currently in the process of migrating to adopt the SAFe for Lean model.As part of these changes, I am responsible for architecting a significant amount of the work, communicating technical direction with the product owners, aligning resources and roles to support our efforts and hiring new staff while being transparent of the changes to provide visibility to the team members.Outside my sphere of influence, I am coaching more senior managers and directors to help align their organizations to agile best practices. I not only provide my own expertise but I also provide time from my leaders to advocate for changes to be made across our organization.

I owned all of the Unix code for the flagship LogRhythm SIEM product. I ensured quality across Linux, Solaris, AIX and HPUX operating systems.• Architected and implemented Linux Real-Time File Integrity Monitoring, a user space application that uses the Linux audit and inotify subsystems to determine what user and process is updating a file. Delivered to numerous customers, including national retail POS systems.• Architected the Unix build platform using Jenkins. Incorporated static and run-time analytics to the build process. Utilized googletest framework and valgrind to ensure code quality. Metrics measured include unit test code coverage, complexity analysis and static code analysis.• Member of the Tier IV team, troubleshooting and correcting problems at our largest customers.• Designed, coded and shipped updates to customers to allow their deployments to work as expected. • Refactored legacy code to fix defects and make testable.• Won the first LogRhythm Hackathon with an iOS app that pulled logs from a device and forwarded them into the SIEM.

I was one of 3 software developers working on a federated search product. We were moving an existing product that was deployed at our numerous customers to a SaaS application. I refactored the REST API for the creation and maintenance of search targets, designed and implemented an automated framework to validate objects being sent to our API and managed all database migration scripts.

Led a team of engineers in migrating legacy C code into C++ on a modern Linux system to enable fast queries of cell phone locations in the largest metropolitan cities in the world. We achieved success by heavy use of TDD, refactoring and load testing.

• Architected, designed and implemented 2 key infrastructure components of the Axiom 500 product.• Developed Pillar’s software update feature, a highly complex and fault tolerant process.• Wrote Pillar’s remote troubleshoot feature with the balanced goal of receiving alerts prior to a customer noticing a problem and gathering enough data to allow engineering to root cause problems.• New implementations are highly testable, decoupled from other classes and have low complexity. I was one of the lead developers in taking this product from conception, design and implementation to the market. Wrote server-side Java code that interfaced with Linux iptables to implement firewall rules to provide network security. Wrote real-time C++ code to ensure fair network access and C code to update the Linux kernel. The job afforded me the opportunity to learn the networking pieces of the linux kernel in detail and learn to write testable, agile Java code.
