Financial Director at Minimally Invasive Spinal Technology, LLC, a startup developing spinal implants for patients with scoliosis. Wrote and secured over $50,000 in fundraising from grants, entrepreneurial competitions, and startup incubators such as Y Combinator. Established connections with industry leaders and venture capital firms that lead to $1.5M in Series A Funding. Lead a capstone project developing a predictive model of deformity progression in adolescents with scoliosis. The team won multiple grants, including the UVA Entrepreneurship Cup Concept and Discovery Competitions as well as the Jenner Family Student Entrepreneurship grant and an Experiential Learning grant. It's founders engaged in the 2018 Spring UVA I-Corps program and participated in the 2018 Summer Incubator Program at the UVA iLab.
