I am responsible for designing solutions to problems via customer requests,bug fixes or internal initiatives. My team includes international and localteammates to design, implement and test solutions. Working on app wide conversion project to move towards single-tenant architecture. This means spreading our app out from 1 instance to many instances, allowing for any client's data to be housed in specific & separate data-stores. I was responsible for developing the proof-of-concept of "reading the data" because the data can be housed anywhere and we need to retrieve & aggregate it for the user, this grew from simple proof of concept to designing and developing the production-bound solution. I am also currently responsible for the development of synchronizing data across instances and we accomplish this with Kafka. I run performance tests, design topics/partitions & improve our solution by working with our Lead Architect to discuss possible redesigns & optimizations.I designed and developed a machine learning feature that recommends new suppliers for buyers with using unfilled job postings, this was accomplished by using natural language processing. Worked for Pappajohn Business School's entrepreneurial center, working on apps for students whose business plans had made through an established approval process. I worked on 2 apps during my time, the first of which was a book trading platform where users could add books that they wanted and had. Then they would get matched up with someone who wanted and had the opposite books, allowing you to message the other person. I got this app to the point where all of the above is included in the app. The other app was a social media app where users whose score was high enough had to approve comments for posts before they were globally viewed. I got this app to the point where it had user login/signup, newsfeed, detailView for specific posts and a settings page to change the categories. For 10hrs a week for 6 weeks, I was happy with the progress I was able to make with both.
