Prasad Perera is a Doctoral Researcher at Centre for Smart Modern Construction (c4SMC), School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment, Western Sydney University, Australia. His PhD research is focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning for Construction Compliance. Before joining Western Sydney University, he was serving as the Director – Business Development at NEXTEC Engineering (PVT) Ltd which is a leading Engineering consultancy firm in Sri Lanka serving several mega projects in the region. His academic engagements include serving as a visiting lecturer at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and for universities in UK, Australia, Thailand, and Malaysia in his expert spheres of Information Technology Management, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Construction Management Systems, Enterprise Project Management System etc. His research interests include Deep Learning for Construction, Visual Computing for Construction, Artificial Intelligence, Construction Compliance, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, and Management Information Systems.(https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=2iGzQw8AAAAJ&hl=en)Prasad has served and contributed as a capacity building consultant and a project manager in many national level projects in diverse business domains funded by international donor agencies.
