Scada Specialist
Current• Set up, monitor, and maintain the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System to ensure 24/7 system availability for the operators that monitor and operate the water treatment plant and wastewater plant.• Develops, updates, and maintains all aspects of the SCADA system including programming and upgrading of computers and software, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the systems.• Assists with engineering design, technical review, and installations of CIP projects related to SCADA.• Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the database system that collects, reports, and archives all of the data required by the various regulatory agencies.• Produce internal and external reports.• Designing a user-friendly HMI for operators to be displayed on the computer screens using Inductive Automation Ignition software. • Perform backups of the SCADA system and associated systems.• Installed cell modem and outdoor antenna by removing outdated radios for faster communication at all the remote sites to be used as a backup in the future and installed POTS replacement device to have backup alarm callouts.• Got all the remote sites online and remotely accessible from ignition Scada software by upgrading outdated PLCs and radios (uses cell modems now) for communications.• Conducted in-depth analysis of current PLC Panels to identify areas for improvement, leading to a tailored upgrade plan for PLC systems, enhancing reliability, performance, and overall operational excellence.• Installed Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) at all the remote sites and maintained backup power solution in case of power outages. • Lead a team of 2 technicians.
