About Prasun Basu

My mantra has been strategy-led growth enabled by technology and culture.This led me to passionately drive inclusive leadership, demonstrated through teams and organizations I have led, while living in cultures as diverse as US (east coast and south-east), Europe, SE Asia, Africa, Middle East, India and significant co-working teams in LATAM, China and Japan. Diverse geographies were complemented by roles that have spanned global, regional, local market leadership, regional key account management, product leadership, global JV’s, partnerships, acquisitions and investments. Transformation programs leading to unusual business impact include rapid scale-up and launch in Africa, Middle East, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, tough turnarounds in India in two different companies (‘Project Everest’ and ‘New Future’ programs), and significant growth of top key accounts across FMCG, Media, Digital, Telecom, Retail, Banking and Airlines.Tech-enabled transformation in Product, Operations and Analytics has been a key passion for me, driving digitalization of traditional trade (TT) Retail measurement, capture of E-commerce sales, setting up a Digital & Social media unit, integrating passive metering and external data for one source media measurement, 100% tech-based data capture in Bangladesh, on-demand analytics and syndicated & platform-based products. New businesses included launching a Global hub for Media Analytics, a real-time digital retail product (TT Weekly Pulse) and scaling up Marketing Science unit from local to Global. The future is led through thought leadership. I have been fortunate to be an avid student and conduit - publications and quotations in HBR, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Philosophy of Science, appearances in BBC Worldwide and regular presence in top Indian channels such as CNBC, ET Now, Times of India. It has been an honor to share stage with the likes of Martin Lindstrom, Sir Martin Sorrell, Marcus Buckingham, Aditya Puri, Rama Bijapurkar, Kishore Biyani and Shiv Shivakumar.The magic glue to driving organization success and transformation is culture and people.Diversity, inclusion and servant leadership has shaped the leadership teams that I have led. I have believed in a leadership mix of young and matured whether it’s empowering the local leadership in Africa, Thailand or Bangladesh or the 100 leaders Multipliers program in India.
