Quality Engineer
Current• Confirm dimensions of parts using precise measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauge and bore gauge.• Perform UL/CSA audits and assist UL/CSA inspectors during field inspection.• Evaluate customer complaints from RMA’s and FSR’s, perform RCA and provide initial technical reasons for each complaint.• Ensure Field Service Reports (customer issues) generated from the Applications Engineering are resolved to Corrective Action as rapidly as possible.• Act as single-point-of-contact with suppliers as required to manage quality performance and other issues regarding part quality and issue a SCAR if necessary.• Create and update manufacturing and operations documents (e.g., SOPs, Quality Plan, Inspection Sheets, Quick Setup guide) as per the institutional policies and procedures.• Review Non-Conformance Report (NCR) logs with the team weekly by addressing quality issues, such as RCA (root cause analysis), raising 8D, and Corrective Actions• Advice production staff in the implementation of new or changed quality practices, required corrective actions, or identify CAPA.• Coordinate supplier issues identified on site to the supplier and perform containment activities.• Project Lead: Reduced COQ by 12% through Continuous improvement methodologies.
