Double hatting as the Quality Assurance Auditor and the Senior Engineering Trade Manager, conducting audits within the department and widespread throughout the Unit. Accountable for the overall managerial supervision and accountability for circa 25 multi-faceted aircraft engineers. Possessing astute analytical abilities, I was responsible for assessing the suitability to perform engineering activities against individual core competency data, coupled with ensuring engineers were nominated for relevant courses to maximise efficiency along with personal and professional development of each member of staff.Key Skills and Responsibilities:• Ensure personnel are authorised to carry out maintenance taskings and defer maintenance activities in order to satisfy operational flying programmes.• Conduct Risk, COSHH and H&S Assessments for multiple workplaces and tasks to ensure a suitable environment was provided for all staff to conduct their duties, taking necessary steps to ensure compliance with necessary legislation and taking into account all H&S responsibilities associated with the Senior Engineering position.• Enforce the adherence of staff to carry out all maintenance in accordance with ‘specific to task’ instructions and procedures. Understanding the working practices of multi-national forces and aligning strategies to comply with other nation’s laws and protocols.• Spearhead the quality assurance process of all engineering and logistical requirements for the department.• Administer all duties; directly responsible for the creation of staff rotas, course allocations, disciplinary procedures, attendance of meetings and the writing of staff appraisal reports; critiscising and providing feedback on annual performance.• Deputise for senior executives in periods of absence or diversion, absorbing additional responsibilities and accountabilities in line with my own.• Coordinate and execute the deployment of all staff on worldwide operations, delivering briefs at all levels to ensure understanding of operational requirements.

As an engineering manager I maintained overall managerial supervision and accountability for a large team multi-faceted aircraft engineers. Possessing astute analytical abilities, I was responsible for assessing the suitability to perform engineering activities in line with the military’s Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) model. Able to manage, use and test specialist calibration equipment, I maintained a stringent approach to tool control and a robust asset spares itinerary. Covering all aspects of RB199 support to front line engineers and aircrew as required, acting as Subject Matter Expert and developing inexperienced engineers in new and innovative engineering methodologies. Able to repair minor engine damage, managing a swift response to aircraft assets in need of an operational turn-around, so as not to impact operational planning and mitigating risk to the operational output of the customer’s section.Key Skills and Responsibilities:• Procured necessary resources from equipment sponsors and manufacturers to ensure customer needs were met within budget and deadlines.• Carried out Risk and COSHH assessments as the trained assessor.• Capacity to deploy a portable workshop, to deliver a sustainable support network whilst deployed on operations worldwide.• Compiled engineering instructions and carried out publication amendments to ensure correct data was followed during the maintenance of engineering systems.• Ensured all work carried out was done so in accordance with relevant procedures and H&S legislations, together with ensuring staff adhered to Risk and COSHH assessments carried out against specific and specialised tasks.• Liaised with multiple stakeholders; including Project Teams, Engineering Design Authorities and External Contractors to seek advice and provide first hand working knowledge of complex systems to affect the embodiment process pertaining to safety for engineering assets and aircraft systems.

Acted as Trade Manager for a Search and Rescue fleet of aircraft (Sea King) covering aspects of engineering repairs, modifications and fault diagnosis including the operation of the Rotor Analysis Diagnostics Systems (RADS), and from this the data analysis of read-outs, then subsequent rectification work.Key Skills and Responsibilities:• Coordinate documentation and collate necessary information ready for inspection and handover to aircrews.• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure a capable and effective fleet of aircraft to carry out their duties at short notice periods.• Diagnosed faults pertaining to Hydraulics, Air, Fuel, and Engine systems.• Carried out refueling duties as required.
