I work alongside undergraduate & graduate students on developing a machine learning model to identify hate speech towards Asian Americans & understand how factors such as sociocultural climate, structural inequalities, & individual psychological variables interact to influence Asian & Black Americans' experiences, attitudes, & responses to racism. I meet with the team weekly to label tweets for the training data set.

Touched by the history of 125th & Lexington Ave, I created a project focused on exposing the 125 different forms of negligence by the government. The goal of this project is to prove that even improving upon 25 of those 125 things can significantly transform the community.

The BNIA provider selected me to be a 3x intern with SYEP, where I was able to work up to 20 hours per week & conduct tasks which expanded my knowledge of the job market & personal finance.

∙I was in charge of Stuyvesant’s student turnout. I responsibly coordinated & recruited students by organizing outreach in the form of calls, texts, emails, flyering, speaking to teachers, hosting art builds, presentations in groups, etc.∙I worked with organizations such as Treeage & Sunrise Movement to plan the march, create chants, & brainstorm relevant ideas.∙I worked within my own community to spread the word about the march & recruit well-known authority figures such as NY-10 congressional candidate Yuh-Line Niou & council member Jumaane Williams.

I Released bi-monthly issues documenting service projects, members of the months, & other highlights. I also expanded on the arts aspect of Locksmith by revamping the old Key Club bulletin board. My additional responsibilities included attending two service events & one fundraiser a month, collecting due payments, & going above & beyond to engage with members in unique ways (getting pie-faced).

I pitched to businesses & organizations via phone calls, emails, & in-person to close deals & secure advertisements & financial profit for the largest independent student-run paper featured in NY Times awarded @ the Harvard Crimson Journalism Conference, with over 10,000 readers & 15,000 website visits.
