About Jasmine Coleman

My passion is helping learners realize their limitless potential. Both my career and business endeavors are focused on creating equitable opportunities for individuals to discover their true passion through collaboration and problem-solving. I enjoy training professionals in culturally responsive teaching and QA.I am currently working towards developing an advanced Chemistry program at Maricopa Institute of Technology in Phoenix, AZ. Our goal is to continually create new opportunities for students to grow in STEAMM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math, medicine) as the field advances. My previous positions were teaching AP and Honors Chemistry at BASIS.Ed in Ahwatukee, and prior I was teaching Organic and Fundamental Chemistry at Harper College in an effort to merge my love for chemistry with my passion for interacting with students. I am looking for more opportunities to expand my business, teaching, and research experiences.I obtained my MS(R) in Physical Chemistry from Saint Louis University, with my research primarily on characterizing nonlinear dynamics and pattern formation of various electrochemical systems. In addition, I have participated in projects involving electrochemistry and organic synthesis of quantum dots and studied their use in alternative energy efforts at Northwestern University with the Weiss group. I have experience working with computational methods to theorize binding energies of disubstituted benzene molecules in order to simulate the binding expected within carbon nanotube structures; these methods utilize Gaussian, UNIX, & MATLAB.Specialties: Proficiency in German, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Gaussian, Organic Chemistry, UV/Vis Spectrophotometry, Analytical device fabrication, NMR, Fluorescence Microscopy, Quantum Dots, Analytical Chemistry, SAPT, MATLAB, HTML, Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Kinetics, Microfluidics, Microelectrode fabrication, Nonlinear dynamics due to bistability, Tutoring, Mathematics, Education, Pedagogy
