I have 24 years of experience in teaching, professional development, and instructional design. I have experience from the classroom, and from pre-production to publishing in an LMS; however, my instructional design expertise is working mostly on the front-end, focusing and aligning curriculum with SME’s, instructors, and professors.Working side-by-side with teachers of history, science, vocational programs, criminal justice, nursing, engineering, bombing prevention and response, and much more, I’ve shown them how to uncover and use meaning to draw learners in. Working side-by-side with learners, I’ve taught them how to use nonfiction literacy and learning skills, including nonfiction structures (e.g., compare/contrast, cause/effect), to find meaning, think critically, and write. I show them how to observe and think like engineers or scientists.From K12 to college, and from classroom to asynchronous learning environments, I practically combine elements of backwards design and ADDIE into instructional problem solving and design (sometimes triage) that meets our strict time constraints.I look forward to meeting and talking to you.
