•Serves as lead project engineer in multiple multi-million dollar research and development projects, applying advanced mechanical engineering concepts and principles to design, manufacture, and test of technically challenging novel defense concepts for the U.S. Air Force and other Department of Defense agencies and contractors.•Through extensive team collaboration to ensure schedule needs were met, successfully designed and manufactured test hardware; specified test arena and data collection structures; selected instrumentation and high-speed imagery criteria; reviewed test facility construction; and performed data reduction all within a six-month window while serving as test engineer.•Established additive manufacturing lab by selecting equipment, installing equipment, and building processes and procedures that allowed for the rapid development of a multitude of design prototypes for the use by internal engineering teams, which dramatically reduced prototyping lifecycle. •Investigates mechanical hardware designs with calculations, supported by use of Finite Element Analysis tools Nastran and Solidworks Simulation Pro, studying the robustness of designs against mechanical forces, hydraulic forces, and thermal response. Conducts fluid mechanics studies using OpenFOAM.•Established a rapid prototyping facility internal to Integrated Solutions for Systems, collaborating with a small multi-disciplined development team that has demonstrated success in reducing prototype lead times from months down to weeks, using CNC machines, welding equipment, and a composite material lab, all while maintaining a high quality product and a safe working environment.

•Conducted research, development, test, and evaluation for blast, ballistic and forced entry threat mitigation against engineered structures as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team with a proven track record in structural, mechanical, and fluid designs by utilizing skills in 3D modeling and engineering analysis software such as Solidworks and ANSYS structural and explicit dynamics, with a heavy focus on custom-built test equipment.•Designed, procured, and managed installation of a three-story lifting frame which proved capable of lifting an over 15 ton structure into place using only hydraulic winches for expedient construction of protective shelters.•Develops test plans, test reports, and engineering analysis reports to aid the Air Force Civil Engineer Center in their selection and implementation of appropriate protective designs based upon the conducted research.•Selected instrumentation and high-speed imagery specifications based upon test requirements, available data acquisition systems and imagery equipment•Developed custom-built electro-mechanical high-pressure test equipment that allowed for the remote simultaneous pressurization of up to four test vessels to 10,000psi that was used as test support equipment to reproduce the ideal test specifications provided by the customer.•Routinely made field investigations of construction sites and structures to assess integrity, conduct failure analysis, and record as-built measurements for design reports and drawing revisions. •Applied knowledge of traditional manufacturing and rapid prototype manufacturing, using a wide array of tools, from CNC waterjet cutting, plasma cutting, and additive manufacturing, which facilitated the study of full-scale and reduced-scale ballistic and explosive blast mitigation modeling and testing.
