I am a junior at Pennsylvania State University Park in State College, Pennsylvania, where I am majoring in cybersecurity with an application focus in human-centered design and development (HCDD) at the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST). I am passionate about user experience design, cybersecurity, programming, and communications.Regarding IST, I have taken cybersecurity, programming, and security-risk analysis courses. I have extended my knowledge to outside the college as well. In the summer of 2024, I completed an 8-week apprenticeship program hosted by IBM, where I learned about design and design principles. I am currently a web analytics intern for the Digital Media Engagement team at the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where I use Google Analytics to analyze engagement across the DVA's platforms.Additionally, I have a deep interest in communications and the arts, and I am always looking for opportunities in college to explore my creativity. I have taken rhetoric, media, and cinema courses; participated in information sessions; and joined communications clubs. I have done external work in broadcast journalism, digital/print journalism, camera production, and video editing. Regarding the arts, I have done some occasional acting at Penn State; outside of college, I am a violist of 11 years and a drummer of 15 years. I am more than open to learning other creative fields. Through both fields, I have strongly learned the concepts of teamwork and accomplishing things within a tight setting. I perform my tasks efficiently and to the best of my ability.I hope to explore the intersection of technology and communications and combine both fields into a future internship or career, whether it be cybercrime journalism, cybersecurity public relations, or telecommunications cybersecurity.
