Spearheaded broad research using personal narratives and empirical data to better understand the role of labor rights in conflict resolution, climate and labor justice, alternative models of migration, and social justice movements against racism, and imperialism. I specialized in the historical and contemporary grassroots labor movements in Sudan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Tunisia, Bahrain and Palestine. I paid particular attention to the presence of domestic migrant labor, the intersections of feminist liberation and workers' rights, and the importance of independent unions in protecting workers' rights and dignity. I collaborated with field staff members, program officers, and other interns to re-adapt the department's programmatic strategy to best support partner labor organizers to lead inclusive, resilient workers' associations. I engaged in one-on-one dialogue with senior staff members to learn more about the structure of the US and international labor movement and how the two build each other up.
