During my summer internship, I was focused on the hemolysis workstream for a new product in development. I conducted background research to set a specification for a safe threshold of hemolysis in humans and animals. I also assisted with hemolysis testing of different iterations of the device. As an undergraduate Research Fellow, I worked in Dr. Leigh Griffiths' Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering Lab on a project focused on developing antigen-free vasculature to be used as coronary artery bypass grafts (for example), that will generate a reduced immune response than current grafts. Roy LabI worked on a project to manufacture antigen-specific B cells ex vivo as a form of immunotherapy by identifying the most efficient way to recreate the cell-cell signaling required for B cells to activate and expand. I performed assays related to cellular characterization (proliferation, apoptosis, flow cytometry etc.)

I worked as a Teaching Assistant for the introductory Biomedical Engineering class (BMED 2210). I worked as an in-class mentor, helping students learn the material by asking and answering questions, grading quizzes and, holding office hours.
