• Ph.D. Thesis: Modelling of swelling-induced degradation in Lithium-ion batteriesCharging and discharging of batteries lead to swelling and shrinking of the electrodes that may cause delamination growth, local buckling, void initiation, and loss of electric contact with the current collector. One part of the project aims to experimentally characterize the constitutive behavior of electrodes as a function of electrochemical cycling. The other part aims to develop homogenized models of battery cells taking into account the constitutive behavior of different layers. The presented homogenization schemes aim to reduce computational costs for cell-level and module-level simulations.• Skills:- Extensive knowledge and experience in the design of constitutive models and their application to finite element modeling (FEM). Attended Ph.D. courses in continuum mechanics and constitutive modeling.- Attended the master course on applied electrochemistry.
