Managing multiple Backup and Storage Accounts such as Veritas Netbackup, EMC Networker, 3Par storage for various Europe accounts such as AWS, ATOC , DLG etc.

•Responsible for maintaining backup data for a 24x7 office.•Installation & Configuration of VERITAS NetBackup Server & Client.•Hands on experience with operating and troubleshooting Windows, UNIX server backups.•Managing Catalog backups and Exchange backups•Managing Robots and Tapes library..•Configuring zoned STK tape drives and ACS robots for VERITAS NetBackup Media server.•Good Knowledge on CLI of VERITAS NetBackup.•Perform backups, restores, analyzing logs and troubleshooting errors as per day to day operations for around 11000 Windows and Unix servers.•Creating new backup policies for both automated and manual backups.•Checking the daemons and log files.•Responsible for NetBackup administration and L2 support of 5 global sites.•Supporting and responsible for the backup environment consisting of 5 NetBackup Master Servers ,16 media servers with SL8500 ACSLS libraries and Data domain 880,DD990.•Supporting various production environments like Windows, UNIX, Linux, Exchange, Teradata, NDMP, Oracle, and MSSQL.•Provide performance tuning and create design docs for new enhancements/Hot fixes of the existing backup environment.•Responsible for Backup implementation on Exchange, Oracle and SQL servers’ and configuration testing before setting it up in the production environment.•Define and validate Backup implementation on Windows, Linux and Solaris clients before being setup in the production environment.•Performs/assists critical restore of Database (oracle, Sybase, MSSQL), exchange, OS (windows, UNIX, Linux) and filers (UNIX share, Windows share) etc.•Break/Fix and L2 troubleshooting on NetBackup master and media server errors effectively to ensure continuity in the production environment.• Manages backup resources (Symantec) including disk space, log files, tape drives, and media pools.• Analysis of Backup error codes generated and rectifying the problems and restarting the failed jobs where ever possible.

Responsibilities included: Monitoring Netbackup tool for failures, error codes. Resolving those error codes via Putty and GUI for successful backups.Configuring and decommissioning clients from Netbackup tool.
