Retired in 2019 from being a Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford since 1991, teaching Professional Development, Project Management and formerly many other subjects to a range of students and commercial clients. Completed PhD by published works in 2019 'Pragmatic Constructivism in Higher Education'. Proud to be awarded the Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2012 and team Teaching Award in 2017. Shortlisted for the Guardian University Award for Best Curriculum Design in 2018. Also the Salford Student's Union Best Academic Support award in 2014. Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2015, and nominated for their Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence, 2019.Responsibility at Salford Business School for co-ordinating student placements, especially one year undergraduate positions: https://www.salford.ac.uk/business-school/placements. Former Director of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funded UNITE project supporting SMEs in the North West of England: http://www.salford.ac.uk/business-school/business-services/unite-with-business. Significant role in other enterprise activity, eg working with local SMEs and organising, advising and judging on student and business innovation, managing projects and delivering commercial training and consultancy (ie with Salford Professional Development) in Project Management.Research (and PhD supervisor) in project management, e-commerce, work based learning and broader areas of constructivist learning with a background in blended and e-learning, with 12 of my PhD students graduating since 2004.
