My research experience has spanned a number of fields but has generally focused on terrestrial ecosystems including their response to climate and disturbance. My primary tools have been based in paleoclimatology, using both tree rings and lake sediments. I have also used and am familiar with approaches in genetic analysis, forest inventories, meteorological networks and long-term observational studies.I have extensive fieldwork experience extending from the Canadian Arctic to the Swiss Alps, and maintain a passion for knowledge, especially concerning the environment. I am well-versed in data analysis techniques and software applications, specifically R.From teaching at the university level, to TAing, to coaching adult and youth sports, I am adept and comfortable passing knowledge to others. I am capable of adapting my teaching approaches to a wide range of different learning styles and contexts.
