The purpose of this role was to initiate, lead, advise, support and optimise the contribution from country programmes in Asia (in particular Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan) to Save the Children UK‟s (SC) global Child Survival breakthrough and campaign. Country programmes, and specifically Country Directors, are overall responsible for the development of quality country-level interventions in the thematic areas, including health, hunger reduction and HIV. The RCSA had a key role in relation to programme development, programme quality and impact, country-level advocacy and campaign development. At the regional level, RCSA served as the focal point and coordinator for all activities related to the Child Survival breakthrough and campaign, bringing together country inputs and working closely with key staff in the region and head office (relevant policy teams and advisers, media, communications and campaigns, fundraising departments).
