Created in August 2013, Safety Through Outreach and Prevention (S.T.O.P.) is an initiative started by the South East Area Command division of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and is affiliated with its Community Oriented Policing unit. The mission of the S.T.O.P. Coalition is to partner with the community to reduce violent crimes crimes by.

Southern Nevada

• The Homeland Reserve Unit is comprised of former and retired sworn Law Enforcement Officers from local, state and federal agencies from across the country who now reside in Southern Nevada. The intent of the Volunteer.
• A major attack (bombing) by Terrorists on any facility in Las Vegas, Boulder City or Laughlin. The HRU members could be used in Police facilities and sub stations as security to free up the uniform Police Officers to.
• A major fire, which would require additional manpower for crowd, traffic control etc. Members would be used to assist in the evacuation of civilians in the immediate area if necessary.
• Any case involving a missing or kidnapped child. The HRU would manage the phones to free up Officers to join in on the search for the missing child or be used to conduct grid searches and canvassing.
• Depending on the area and conditions, members are utilized as Search and Rescue teams to support the authorities.
• A major plane crash, to secure the perimeter allowing Uniform Officers to respond to the scene to assist injured etc.

Las Vegas, Nevada Area

• REGIONAL INVENTORY CONTROL MANGER - December 2011 – October 2012
• Controlled the movement of over 20M in fixed and rental assets for the Western Region to maximize the returns on investments, and to increase productivity.
• Managed resources and scheduled transfers between regions to ensure proper inventory mix and necessary inventory is in the proper location to service Trade Shows and Special events.
• Tracked out of service inventory and made decisions regarding status including the viability of repair to be returned to rental inventory, transferred to Retail Clearance Centers, or scrapped for parts.
• Ensured all inventory was properly scanned out prior to delivery and then scanned back in to its proper location when returned.

• Responsible for the full range of duties involving the investigation and apprehension of suspected offenders.
• Responded to locations of criminal incidents. Interviewed witnesses, collect evidence, and arrest suspects based on specific legislation.
• Patrolled designated areas to ensure to control criminal activity.
• Assisted public in response to requests regarding domestic violence, child abuse, theft, robbery and other criminal activities.
• Assumed lead role in investigation of motor vehicle related accidents.

• Charged with the protection of life and property by combating, extinguishing and preventing fires.
• Trained for and participated in fire fighting duties, providing emergency care for sick and injured persons and fire prevention activities on assigned shifts.
• Performed routine maintenance of fire apparatus and equipment.
• Held CDL and was an approved driver/engineer on all department vehicles in department’s fleet.
