About Philip Sharman

Hands-on project delivery is my domain; working with dedicated and talented professionals to implement systems and services that truly deliver the value the client is seeking. Building and leading effective delivery teams that collaborate on complex problems and develop efficacious systems is my passion. I give full commitment and personal responsibility to every project I engage with and take full ownership of my projects' lifecycle journey - from commercial inception to live operation. My foremost leadership style is transformation: I am constantly evaluating the smartest way to get things done, identifying ways to improve processes and motivating team members to contribute process improvements and take ownership of completing their changes, without compromising time and cost in the delivery.I am highly skilled in matrix organisation relationship management where communication and negotiation are key to business and customer led delivery prioritisation.I am adept at assimilating into new environments, projects and programmes and grasping business, technical and cultural imperatives for successful delivery. I employ a highly flexible approach whether delivering software at pace using Agile and Lean techniques or traversing the exacting quality gates of a Waterfall project.I strive for simple delivery strategies to mitigate complex business challenges and achieve this through analysis of commercial artefacts and positive collaboration with clients, suppliers and internal subject matter experts.I am a determinedly proactive collaborator and leader: self-assured, ethical, resilient, accomplished, friendly, approachable, an independent critical thinker, keen to learn and keen to share knowledge and ideas. I am an spoilt husband and adoptive father and immensely proud of my three children, two of whom have graduated university and the third set to graduate this year. I am very blessed to live in the beautiful county of Shropshire with my lovely wife, lively Labrador retriever, and secretive rescue cat.
